  |

Planning a party with your friends and family anytime soon? We’re glad to hear that, and we’re certain you’ll have a lot of fun.

And since we know that no party is complete without snacks and accompanying dips, we’ve put together this list of 6 excellent dips you can try out if you want to really impress your guests.

1. Spinach-Artichoke Dip

This dip is always a hit at any party, and it works extremely well with pita chips or tortilla chips. Not to mention that it looks absolutely appetizing too.

Even better – making spinach-artichoke dip is a walk in the park.

What You’ll Need

·         A ¾ cup of sour cream

·         1 cup of grated Cheddar (Not sure where to find kosher Cheddar? Here’s a useful link)

·         A ½ cup of whipped cream cheese

·         A 10-ounce box of chopped or cut spinach (be sure to let it thaw first)

·         Pita chips or tortillas

·         1 lemon (we recommend cutting it into wedges)

·         A 12-ounce jar of artichoke hearts (make sure they are fully drained and properly chopped)

·         A ¼ teaspoon of black pepper

·         A ½ teaspoon of kosher salt

How to Make Spinach-Artichoke Dip

Just follow these 5 steps:

1.      First, heat your oven to 400° F.

2.      Next, take the spinach, place it between some paper towels, and squeeze it so that any excess moisture is eliminated.

3.      Take a bowl (medium-sized), and add the spinach, sour cream, cream cheese, artichokes, and the Cheddar cheese. Afterwards, add the salt and pepper, and mix the batter.

4.      Now, take the mixture, and add it into a baking dish (please make sure the dish is oven-safe). Bake the batter for about 15 minutes. When it’s done, it should look lightly golden and be completely heated through.

5.      Lastly, serve the dip with the snacks of your choice.

In case you want to prepare the dip ahead of time and not on the spot, we suggest mixing the dip 2 days in advance, and refrigerating it (without baking it, of course). When you know you’ll have guests over, just bake the dip according to the instructions we mentioned 15-20 minutes before everyone is supposed to arrive.

2. Pan-Fried Onion Dip

Onion-flavor dips are in high demand when it comes to parties and snacks, so preparing this dip will definitely wow your guests.

What You’ll Need

·         4 tablespoons of unsalted butter

·         A ¼ cup of vegetable oil

·         A ¼ tablespoon of ground cayenne pepper

·         A ½ cup of sour cream

·         A ½ cup of mayonnaise

·         A ½ tablespoon of ground black pepper (fresh, ideally)

·         1 tablespoon of kosher salt

·         2 onions (preferably yellow)

·         4 oz of cream cheese (make sure it’s at room temperature)

·         A mixer with the paddle attachment

How to Make Pan-Fried Onion Dip

Making pan-fried onion dip is as easy as following these 5 steps:

1.      Start by cutting the onions in half. Next, slice them into half-rounds (1/8-inch thick). Basically, you should be left with 3 cups of onions.

2.      Next, add the butter and vegetable oil in a sauté pan (make sure it’s large). Heat them up over medium heat. Then, add the cayenne pepper, salt, onions, and black pepper. Sauté everything for around 10 minutes.

3.      Afterwards, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking the onions, while also stirring them occasionally. Do this for 20 more minutes. When you notice the onions becoming browned and caramelized, set them aside and let them cool down.

4.      Now, add the sour cream, mayonnaise, and cream cheese in a bowl, and start mixing it with the electric mixer. Beat the mixture until it becomes smooth.

5.      All that’s left to do is add the onions to the batter, and thoroughly mix them.

Again, if you want to prepare this ahead of time, just make the sour cream, cream cheese, and mayonnaise mix 1-2 days in advance. Refrigerate it, cook the onions 30-40 minutes before your guests arrive, and add them to the mix.

3. Creamy Avocado Dip

While this dip might not be that well-known, that doesn’t mean your friends and family won’t love it.

What You’ll Need

·         4 avocados

·         1 jalapeño (preferably chopped)

·         1 teaspoon of kosher salt

·         A ¼ teaspoon of black pepper

·         A ½ cup of sour cream

·         A ¼ cup of fresh lime juice

·         1 cup of cilantro

·         A food processor

How to Make Creamy Avocado Dip

All you need to do is follow these 2 steps:

1.      First, scoop the avocados out of their skins. If you are not sure how to do it, here’s a helpful video. Next, add the scooped-out avocados into the food processor.

2.      Now, add the cilantro, the jalapeño, the lime juice, the salt and pepper, and the sour cream. Mix the ingredients until the batter is nice and smooth.

Yes, that’s all there is to it! You can easily make this dip a few minutes before your guests are supposed to arrive.

And in case you and your guests are more health-conscious, you can replace the snacks with cut-up vegetables (like cauliflower, jicama, and broccoli, for example).

4. Salsa Roja Dip

If your guests prefer more exotic, spicy dips, you can’t go wrong with this Salsa Roja dip recipe.

Just looking at it makes your mouth water, doesn’t it?

What You’ll Need

·         A ½ teaspoon of sugar

·         A ½ teaspoon of salt

·         A ½ teaspoon of pepper (we recommend black pepper, as it’s spicier)

·         Chopped cilantro

·         6 large tomatoes

·         1 chopped red bell pepper

·         3 chopped chili peppers

·         1 lemon (limes work well too)

·         1 large onion

·         3 cloves of garlic

·         A skillet

·         A blender

How to Make Salsa Roja Dip

The process is quite simple and just 5 steps long:

1.      Start out by placing the garlic, chopped red bell pepper and chili peppers, and onion in the skillet. Simmer them for about 1 minute.

2.      Next, place the tomatoes (make sure you slice them and take out the seeds first) and the simmered mixture in the blender. If you want the salsa to be a bit chunky, then just blend the mixture for a short period. However, if you want the salsa to be smooth, blend the mixture until you notice its color becoming uniform.

3.      Take the skillet again, transfer the mixture into it, and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, turn the flame to a minimum, and let the contents simmer for around 5 minutes. Afterwards, add the sugar, pepper, and salt, and stir the mixture for a while.

4.      Once that’s done, drain the liquid from the skillet. Then, take the lemon or lime, and grate the rind straight into the salsa. That will add more zest to it. After doing that, slice open the lemon or lime, and squeeze the juice into the salsa as well.

5.      Lastly, add in the chopped cilantro to give the flavor an extra boost.

If you’re thinking about preparing this dip recipe a few days in advance, we’d advise against it. Salsa Roja dip is the most enjoyable when it’s freshly served.

5. Ginger Almond Eggplant Dip

Healthy and delicious at the same time, this dip will be a pleasant surprise for your party guests. Rest assured that everyone will congratulate you on your cooking skills.

After all, just take a look at how great this dip looks.

What You’ll Need

·         A ½ teaspoon of smoked paprika

·         1 pinch of pepper

·         1 tablespoon of mayonnaise

·         1 teaspoon of ground fennel

·         1 teaspoon of ground cumin

·         1 teaspoon of ground coriander

·         A ½ teaspoon of ground cardamom

·         2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro

·         3 tablespoons of ground almonds

·         2 tablespoons of grated ginger

·         4 tablespoons of grapeseed oil

·         2 tablespoons of salt

·         1 large eggplant

·         Green beans (be sure to trim the ends)

·         Asparagus spears (with the woody ends removed)

·         Carrot sticks

·         Crispy flat bread, tortilla, or bread sticks

·         A baking sheet

·         A skillet

How to Make Ginger Almond Eggplant Dip

The process is pretty straightforward – just follow these 6 steps:

1.      Start by preheating the oven to 350° F.

2.      Take the eggplant, and cut it in half lengthwise. Then, oil the cut sides, place them on the baking sheet, and bake them until they become soft (should take about 45 minutes or an hour at most).

3.      Afterwards, scoop out the pulp and put it aside. At the same time, take the skillet, add the grapeseed oil, and place it over medium heat.

4.      When the oil starts getting hot, add the ginger, salt, pepper, and all the spices we mentioned above. Cook everything for approximately 1-2 minutes.

5.      Once that’s done, add the almonds into the mix. Stir everything really well, and give the almonds enough time to toast in the oil.

6.      Lastly, scrape the skillet mix into a large bowl, and add the eggplant pulp as well. All that’s left to do is add the mayonnaise and cilantro, and mix everything smoothly.

Once again, we don’t recommend preparing this dip 1-2 days in advance, as it needs to be fresh.

3.      Lastly, scrape the mixture into a serving bowl, and you’re good to go.
